Summary

The epic sequel to the hugely popular Baahubali: The Beginning, which details the journey of Shiva to Baahubali, picks up right where the first part left off. Shiva has learnt about his heritage, and we begin to learn the story of his father Amarendra Baahubali.
Amarendra has been chosen by the Queen Sivagami to become the King of the Mahishmati kingdom. While touring the kingdom disguised as a commoner to get to know the people, he meets princess Devasena and gets impressed by her beauty and bravery. The two start to develop feelings for each other.
When a proposal is sent by Sivagami to Devasena, she refuses to get wooed by gifts. Baahubali misunderstands this to be a proposal for his marriage, but it turns out to be a proposal for his brother Bhallaladeva. Devasena’s refusal angers Sivagami, and she orders the princess to be captured. Baahubali accompanies Devasena and the truth about their love is revealed. In order to honour the vow Sivagami made to Bhallaladeva about his marriage to Devasena, Baahubali decides to cede his throne to Bhallaladeva.
What follows is a big twist where the biggest secret is revealed – why did Katappa kill Baahubali? And why did Sivagami have to give her life to save Baahubali’s child Shiva?

Baahubali The Beginning was enormously enjoyable. Baahubali The Conclusion comes to life only in bits and pieces and the credit for it should go to Prabhas.

The Conclusion is a spectacular achievement, which not only deserves its place in history but also proves filmmakers should dream big

Rajamouli is an exceptional storyteller and craftsman. It is in excess that the strength of Baahubali 2 lies and it makes no bones about it

While the performances of the lead cast are all believable, it is Peter Hein’s action—with Baahubali doing the Van Damme split and some sweeps that set your spirits soaring.

Baahubali is a delight for all those who enjoy cinema as a visual medium, there is not much else, though.

Rajamouli never loosens his grip on the narrative. Prabhas is a hero to celebrate. This is the rare sequel that is better than the first
